My Paranormal Experiences
My Dudley Road Experience
The road has been paved and a bunch of houses are on it now, but before it was an overgrown shitty dirt road, we used to drive down it often because it was creepy. One day we were driving down the road and we saw a nun in a blue and white outfit walking down the road (there are no sidewalks or anything) so when we turned around I wanted my friend to stop so I could ask her about what happened there, we couldn't see her, then out of nowhere just like in a horror movie, she steps out from the overgrown bushes and in front of our car, we had to slam on the brakes and she never even looked at us, she just kept walking in front of us and down a path out of our sight. We left with our blood pumping because it startled us, later we came back and went down the path she walked, it just led to an open field with nothing as far as you could see. It was so bizarre and we can't quite explain what happened to us that day.

My Paranormal Story
My Ouija Board Experience
It was a dreary Saturday afternoon in the early 1980s when me and my junior high friends - Allyson, Michelle and Jason, all hanging out in Michelle’s bedroom, decided to play Ouija. With Michelle’s parents downstairs, we retrieved the board from the closet, turned off the lights and arranged ourselves in a circle.
Carefully placing our fingers on planchette, Allyson closed her eyes and whispered, “Is there a spirit in the room?” She always asked because, as she told us, spirits had to answer witches – which she claimed to be.
The planchette never failed to move. At first, we only got the spirits to answer, ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. With patience and practice, we were soon getting one-word answers and names. Eventually, the 4 of us were skilled enough that the ghosts answered in full sentences and even predicted future events. But it was this rainy afternoon when we finally stepped over the Ouija threshold of no return. This was the day when the spirits read our minds!
It went down exactly like this – or how my middle-aged brain remembers this 30+ year old memory - three people put their fingers on the planchette while the fourth person thought of a three-digit number then ran downstairs to whisper that number into Michelle’s mother’s ear.
Upon returning, they’d sit on the far side of the room and ask the spirits for their prediction. Slowly, the planchette moved and revealed three digits. The person who picked the number would turn ghostly white and with a quivering voice, ask Michelle’s Mom to yell up what was whispered to her. And when she did…
The numbers always matched.
We sat around in a darkened room waiting for the ghosts to make a mistake. They never did. Time and time again, someone would think of a number, the spirits revealed their numerals and Michelle’s Mom would scream up a number. And they were always the same.
As day turned into night, my friends and I got increasingly spooked. Every time a prediction turned out true, we became a bit more unnerved. And when the four of us were completely freaked, Allyson “closed” the portal to the other side – as witches do, she said – and the Ouija board went back into the closet. The lights were switched on and we all vowed never to touch the thing again.
But eventually - the wind would call our names, the crows in the rustling trees would screech to the ghosts floating above them and the house would curiously creak in such a way that we couldn’t resist. Our fascination once again beckoned us to call out all the wayward ghosts and spirits around us. And we’d drag out the Ouija board – seeking answers from the other side. One letter or number at a time.
